Hello, newcomer. I'm Vicki Decem, an all around creative individual. I graduated with my B.F.A in Illustration in 2022 from Savannah College of Art and Design. I've been passionate about art since I was a little girl. I began to develop my artistic skills seriously at age 7 and continued to be formally trained at the high school and college levels.
Medical issues and being in and out of a wheelchair for most of my childhood forced me away from many other physical activities. I used my sedentary lifestyle to force myself to develop my drawing, painting, and art skills.

I enjoy creating art with a metaphysical or dream-like aura. I am very drawn to outer space, astronomy, and art that is light and nongravitational. Bright, saturated colors with much contrast can be seen throughout my pieces, as I am very in tune with color theory.
Music and poetry are my base inspirations when creating art as the words and lyrics allow me to communicate my artistic feelings. This is why I chose to be an editorial/book illustrator and writer. I feel writing with an artistic visual only betters the other and gives us the full aesthetic and message. They are merely parts to create the whole.
